This past spring was the best in years as far as turkey numbers went, the last few weeks with fields being cut I’m seeing a lot of hens and poults feeding across the fields. If most survive the winter it should be a banner season next spring.

Have to wonder how they made out with all this snow you guys got this winter.

Outside of the flock this morning and a few seen sitting on branches last week I haven’t seen any other turkeys all winter. The wife said she heard one gobbling out back last week, guess I’m going to have to get my butt out of bed early and start checking things out.

A couple of miles down the road this morning, turkeys filled the front yard of someone’s house. Gobblers strutting, jakes and hens running all over the place.

Haven’t seen any strutting here yet. Turkeys are still flocked up.
