While out bowhunting the other night I happened to end up in the corner of the field where the farm once produced milk. By the way this plot and the plot where the house stood is once again for sale.

The last shred of evidence that our #farm existed on this hillside in the #hillsabovegarrattsville . The old spring house that supplied our drinking water for decades. #farmlife #upstateny

A lot of deer crossed in the corner above it plus we use to kick out deer bedded in the field near here.

Your grandfather remembered having to seal the inside after it was built because the cement was so porous the water leaked right through it. Also he said his father had to add the top later because he don’t remember it at all.

Well his memory is going because that top was on the old one. I was surprised he didn’t damage it after rolling it off the old one with the tractor. It laid on its side the whole time we rebuilt the new one. The old spring cement foundation is still up there too. He also used the tractor to pull it out and dragged it about 10 yards out of the way down hill. The hardware on the door is very old and worth money. All black cast iron.

Oh and by the way it still leaks and wont hold water even though the spring is running at full force.
