Well first off, make sure the scope is mounted securely to the firearm, with one adjustment knob on top and the other on the right side. If the rings and mounts aren’t tight enough, recoil can cause slight movement of the scope, changing the point of impact. Start shooting at 25 yards. With most scopes, one adjustment knob “click” moves bullet impact 1/4-inch at 100 yards. At 25 yards, that adjustment is quartered, meaning it takes four clicks to move 1/4-inch. Always shoot three-shot groups before making adjustments. Center- fire rifles zeroed at 25 yards usually fire 2- 3 inches high a 100 yards and are dead-on again at 220 to 240 yards.
